Rich in history is the city of Santa Rita: the houses, the churches and the streets speak of the strength and sweetness of the saint.
The archaeological testimonies attest to an attendance of the Cascia area since the archaic era, for its central role in the complex and ancient road system that incardinates in the Horn Valley.
The city museum circuit: an extraordinary nucleus of sculptures
The artistic heritage of Cascia is divided into two locations: the main one is based in the city building of the noble Santi family. From 1704 to 1738 he hosted the cappuccine nuns of Santa Chiara, to whom there is numerous adaptations of the building and the construction of the Annex Church of Sant'Emidio.
The other location is the church of Sant'Antonio Abate of the ancient Benedictine complex, (hereinafter modifying) rich casket of works such as the cycle of frescoes dedicated to the life of the saint or the large and refined wooden sculpture of the late 14th century depicting Tobia (Tobiolo) and the angel Raffaele.
